Designer St. clément

The St. Clément factory was founded in 1758 by Jacques Chambrette in France, as a branch of his existing Luneville earthenware factory.-

  1. From its inception, it focused on the high-end market segment, producing prestigious earthenware objects. It quickly gained a reputation for its quality and even became a preferred supplier to Marie Antoinette.

Las cerámicas de St. Clément son particularmente conocidas por:

  1. Tin-glazed faience: Characterized by a milky, opaque white glaze, often adorned with intricate designs and vibrant colors.

  1. Majolica: Starting in the 1860s and for about forty years, St. Clément produced majolica, which is distinguished by subtle color shadings.

  1. Older majolica pieces from St. Clément were typically marked with the impressed "SAINT CLEMENT" and might also include the letters "KG" for Keller and Guérin. Later pieces could simply bear "StC FRANCE" or other variations depending on the period.
