Dino Martens was born in 1894 and was a Venetian painter and glass designer in Murano.
After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Martens moved to Murano in the mid-1920s.
He joined SALIR (Studio Ars Laboratorio Industria Riunite) as a collaborator and partner.
In 1932, he worked as a designer for Salviati & C. and Succ. Andrea Rioda.
Between 1939 and 1963, he was the Artistic Director at Aureliano Toso.
He was known for his asymmetrical forms and his pictorial and oriental techniques. His works were celebrated for their technical complexity and unique artistic approach.
Martens' collaboration with Aureliano Toso proved very successful, producing highly sought-after pieces.
In 1963, after a disagreement, Martens left the world of art glass.
