Charles Schneider was born in 1881. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Nancy and later at the elite École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Charles Schneider worked as an intern at the Daum glass company, finishing when a new generation of the family took over the company.
For the Schneider brothers, this was seen as an opportunity to open their own glassworks in 1913, hiring experienced personnel.
The production of the "Schneider" company was brutally interrupted by the First WorldWar, resuming in 1925 when they participated in the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris.
The Exhibition was a great success for the company, which received the Legion of Honouraward for its contribution to the arts.
