Samuel Lipchytz, born in Poland in 1880, was a prominent French Art Deco sculptor. He's known for his bronze sculptures, which often depicted female figures, dancers, and clowns. He also worked with precious materials such as bronze, ivory, onyx, and exotic woods.
Lipchytz was part of the "Russian Jewish School of Paris," a group of Eastern European artists who arrived in Paris in the first half of the 20th century.
He began his artistic journey carving wood and later worked with marble and ivory. In the 1930s, he regularly exhibited in Parisian salons.
