Seguso is a family-owned manufacturing company from Murano, dating back to 1397.
In 1605, Seguso was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano.
They collaborated with renowned designers such as:
Flavio Poli, who was Director from 1937 to 1963;Vittorio Zecchin and Mario Pinzoni.
The techniques most used by Archimede Seguso were:
Bullicante: controlled and uniform bubbles trapped within the Murano glass, in the 1930s. This involved the use of a special mold with a pointed interior, which created indentations where air would be trapped during the glass blowing process.
He developed new interpretations of filigree such as:
Merletti glass (resembling lace) and retortoli (twisted canes).
The Sommerso technique with Flavio Poli in the 1950s and 1960s allowed for the creation of unique and subtle color contrasts.
