The Murano factory Mandruzzato began in 1934 in Italy, with Benjamin Mandruzzato founding the company.
In 1954, his son Luigi Mandruzzato took over, and later his son Gianfranco joined him.
Initially, Mandruzzato produced glass lighting fixtures.
The family is well known for its geometric and cubic shapes in their designs.
Their pieces often feature a faceted finish with flat sides and carved details, achieved through grinding and polishing. This style is believed to have been inspired by the collaborations of Luigi and Gianfranco with Pablo Picasso.
Mandruzzato is also recognized for the "sommerso" technique, which involves layering colors of glass.
Furthermore, they employ cold techniques such as grinding, polishing, and engraving.
Currently, Alessandro Mandruzzato continues the tradition and has received commissions from renowned names such as Armani, Fendi, Neiman Marcus, and Harrod's.
